Story
Fatéma, Beena, Ryoko and Farida wrote a recipe to cook with family or friends. Artist Hélène Jayet took inspiration from the four spice blends in our ‘Voyage’ Gift Set for her work ‘Crocus Sativus,’ the illustration for the recipe booklet which includes four signature recipes.
-Ras el Hanout by Fatéma Hal
Fatéma Hal is a writer, an anthropologist and a chef. She wrote many books on traditional Moroccan cuisine. The latest is a novel: “Le discours amoureux des épices” (2018).
-Garam Masala by Beena Paradin Migotto
Beena Paradin Migotto is an entrepreneur and an innovation consultant. She is the author of several books on Indian cuisine and spices: « l’Atlas des Epices », « le Garam Masala, dix façons de le préparer ».
-Japanese curry powder by Ryoko Sekiguchi
Ryoko Sekiguchi is a writer, a literary translator and a poet. Her writings focus on literature and the history of taste and cuisine, among her latest books: « 961 heures à Beyrouth », « le Curry japonais, dix façons de le préparer », « L’Appel des Odeurs ».
-Harissa powder by Farida Bedredine
Farida Bedredine is a journalist and a cook. She wrote several cookbooks. Her best-seller is: “I Love Food!”
– Born in 1977, Hélène Jayet is a visual artist and photographer from Mali. She began her art studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier, then studied graphic design, photography and photojournalism in Paris. She has been a press portrait photographer and photojournalist for ten years. In addition to making her art, Hélène Jayet teaches photography and visual arts workshops for schools, universities, and most recently, the Department of Art and Images at Kourtrajmé School. She is a socially committed artist whose works focus on the questions of identity.
